Honda Fit vs. Ford Focus

Honda Fit vs. Ford Focus:Small cars are all the rage these days, thanks to their infrequent need to visit the gas pump. But many of today's gas sippers have other great qualities to appreciate. Such is certainly the case in today's matchup: the Honda Fit and Ford Focus.

Mileage Report October 20, 2008

32.88 mpg
317.6 miles on 9.659 gallons of gas at $2.85 a gallon.

The on screen average shows 36.3.5 mpg.

Appears that the actual mileage differs from the on screen mileage by around 4 mpg.

Mileage Mix: Mostly highway. But, I did use the paddle shifters in shpor mode one day around town and that drops the mileage down a bit.

Mileage Report October 14, 2008

30.93 (31) mpg
256.8 miles on 8.301 gallons of gas at $2.99 a gallon.

Seems to be a big difference in what the on screen average says in the car vs. the actual mileage.

The on screen average shows 37.9 mpg. Don't know if my math is off or the gas at the station that this fill-up was from is not that great. I'll have to keep an eye on this one. Might just have to pay a few cents more and get it from the Wawa

More mileage numbers with more around town driving driving.

2006 Honda Fit Concept Car

This is a tricked out Honda Fit created by Honda for the 2006 SEMA Auto Show.

I have a page on out new 2009 Fit that I place several of the images for this car. We are late to the game on this car - but it is so cool looking that I wanted to post about it. Check it out for some additional cool images.

I would love to trick out our fit with some TSW Trackstar 4 wheels.

Our 2009 Honda Sport Fit

Here is an image of our new Honda Sport Fit. This is the second sport fit that our family has. My daughter has a 2008 Sport Fit.

This is my wife and my first Honda. It is a really cool car. I'll be using this blog for tracking our life with this new car.

We picked the car up October 2, 2009 from Pottstown Honda. We didn't think we would be getting one till mid or late October as these cars are flying off the lot and the 2009's are not that abundant. Ours was found at Independence Honda in Bloomsburg, PA. As this is such a popular car we had to pay MSRP. IT di think it is a good deal. At least we didn't have to deal with the dealer for the loan. I have been a member of Benchmark Federal Credit Union in West Chester, PA since my Dad got mi in when I was 16, a long time ago. For more info on our home states and town visit my Pennslyvania page at www.CurtSheller.com

Some of the great feature that I like about this car are the many ways that you can configure the seats for hauling stuff.

Now if we could just afford to trick it out with some wheels and other accessories with out effecting the mileage.

I'll be posting the mileage with every fill up.

First Mileage Numbers

36.58 mpg
315.7 miles on 8.629 gallons of gas at $3.17 a gallon.

Here are the first mileage numbers on our new 2009, red Honda Sport Fit.

The first tank of gas was on the dealer. So, this is my third fill up and I'll be tracking how the mileage goes.

Mostly highway driving between Pottstown, PA on US Route 422 and Plymouth Meeting, PA. I do this six days a week in my private music teaching gig at the Music and Arts Center.
